چکیده
Abstract In this study, we investigated the physiological responses of maize with different amylose content at seedlings to drought stress. For waxy (WMS) and normal (NMS), decline photosynthesis under stress (DS) was due stomatal limitation. DS increased non-photochemical quenching coefficient (NPQ), whereas decreased activities peroxidase (POD) plant height (PH), compared plants irrigation. The starch significantly upon moderate severe stress, respectively. high (HAMSs), they showed limitation while non-stomatal NPQ POD contrary trend WMS NMS. PH them. principal component analysis (PCA) HAMSs were more sensitive than GBSSIIa level also lower that Therefore, conclude respond through redox regulation avoid oxidative damage, NMS by increasing biosynthesis, higher may produce amylose, which could promote growth effectively.

Morpho-physiological responses in Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum seedlings to drought stress
In this study, the effect of drought stress on morphological and physiological characteristics of two forest species: Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum, which are used in natural forest restoration and afforestation, was evaluated. A factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design with two factors (two species and four levels of drought stress: (25% (severe stress),...
متن کاملPhysiological responses of Norway spruce (Picea abies) seedlings to drought stress.
Four-year-old seedlings of Picea abies [L.] Karst (Norway spruce) were grown in semi-controlled conditions with three watering regimes. The seedlings in the control group (c) were watered to prevent any dehydration effect. The two remaining groups were subjected to mild (ms) and severe water stress (ss), respectively. The following physiological variables were monitored until ss seedlings began...
متن کاملmorpho-physiological responses of black locust (robinia pseudoacacia l.) seedlings to drought stress
this study was conducted to study of morpho-physiological responses of robinia pseudoacacia l. seedlings under drought stress by irrigation period at 4 levels (intervals of 4, 8, 12 and 16 days). the experiment was performed as completely randomized design in a greenhouse environment. results indicated that all studied traits were affected by water stress, except water use efficiency (wue). the...
متن کاملPhysiological and biochemical responses of Quercus brantii seedlings to water deficit stress
Water shortage is one of the most important environmental stresses in Mediterranean regions. Poor seedling quality may account for the failure of oak regeneration. To determine the best seed origin of Quercus brantii, we investigated on seedlings collected from 20 mother trees in the Zagros Mountain forests 700 to 2200 m altitudes above sea level. Seedlings from different altitudes were irrig...

This study was conducted in order to investigate the effect of drought stress and Azomite fertilizer on some physiological traits of two tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum M.) cultivars (izmir and Izabella). A randomized complete design with factorial arrangement with three replications was used. Treatments consisted of three levels of irrigation including FC (control), FC (mild drought stress), a...
